Features of our CD-Books

Arctic Discovery
Volumes are scanned at High Resolution (600 DPI) from the original books. The electronic files are processed through several stages to produce a final product, an ADOBE ACROBAT PDF file. The text from each page is carefully edited to ensure fidelity to the original manuscript. The images of the original pages are linked to the text pages for verification.

The complete text is indexed using ACROBAT CATALOG thus allowing fast search on any words.

The illustrations are also scanned at 600 DPI and preserved on CD at two resolutions. The original 600 DPI images are used for printing reproductions and examining the details. Lower resolution (96 DPI) images are linked to the text and can be retrieved quickly during the reading of the book.
